We work with families across Prestons and the wider Liverpool area, from Casula and Hoxton Park through to Edmondson Park and Carnes Hill, and the feedback is consistent: better focus at school and better manners at home.

Four highly qualified instructors with over 100+ years of combined experience lead our classes. They know every student by name, track their progress and care about how they are doing off the mat as much as on it.
5th Dan Black Belt
Sir Andrew is a 5th Dan Black Belt with a wealth of experience teaching kids Karate, kids Kickboxing, adult Karate and adult Kickboxing.
He also leads our Arnis and self-defence training for both kids and adults.

Purple Belt in BJJ
Sir Jem is a 3rd Dan Black Belt who also holds a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
He teaches our kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, along with kids Karate and adult Karate.

Seeing how supportive the environment was inspired me to step onto the mat myself and I couldn't be happier that I did! As an adult student, the classes are challenging, empowering, and a phenomenal workout, all in a completely non-intimidating atmosphere. Coach Jeremiah has been passionate about martial arts since he was in primary school. Setting up his own gym was always a dream, and ~2 years ago, he made that dream a reality. Now, he has teamed up with Coach Andrew to open his second gym. Both coaches understand how martial arts, as a way of life, can transform lives because it transformed theirs. After decades of experience in training and competing in tournaments here and abroad, they’re now passing on their knowledge, values and legacy to the next generation. You and your child will be in good hands.
I cannot recommend SAMA Academy highly enough! From the moment my girls joined, they have been welcomed with open arms and made to feel like part of the SAMA family. The amount they have learnt since joining has been amazing. Not only have they developed new skills, but their confidence, discipline and technique have improved so much. A special thank you to Sir Andrew, who has taken the time to work closely with my girls, correcting their techniques, teaching them the proper way to perform their moves and helping them improve in areas that needed attention. His knowledge, patience and dedication to getting the best out of his students really show in the way he teaches. What I love most is that the instructors don’t just teach the children moves. They take the time to explain, demonstrate and make sure the children understand what they are doing and why. They encourage them to push themselves, work hard, believe in their abilities and never give up.
